5:30 AM portrait with Andrew "Android" Jones one of my favorite artists, I want to be a live painter at music and art festivals like him so badly. So he'll definitely be seeing more of me in the future.

Haida spirit animals

I've been looking into and researching art from different cultures lately. The artwork of the Haida and Kwakiutl Native Americans of Northwest Canada has been of particular interest. The designs of their animals are very unique. I depicted three elders with their spirit animal designs peeling from their clothing and coming to life. The funky looking animals on the bottom are animals found in Mongolian art.

Several months ago the Getty Center had a Jean Leon Gerome exhibit and I had the priviledge of seeing it twice although I wish I could have seen it 10 more times. It was the most amazing art exhibit I have ever seen. I sketched some of the figures in the paintings and came up with this drawing in my sketchbook.
